Lemon based beauty recipes

The best way to know exactly what’s in beauty products is to make them yourself. As lemons are something you’ll find on the market regardless of the season, you can always make a pretty neat mask from them, enjoying the many benefits they have to offer.

Nail treatment

For nail care, combine 3 tablespoons of olive oil with a spoonful of lemon juice. Lemon acid brightens yellow toenails and olive oil moisturize them. Heat the mixture and soak your nails in it until it cools down. Repeat this procedure daily, for 10 days.

Skin care mask

Because they are rich in vitamins and nutrients, lemons are known for their cleansing and moisturizing properties. For black dots, mix an egg yolk, a spoon of lemon juice and a spoonful of honey. Apply the mask to affected areas, let it act for 10 minutes and then rinse your face with warm water. To reduce pores, prepare a mask made from an eggwhite mixed with a spoonful of lemon. Apply the mask and let it act for 5 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

Tooth whitening treatment

Due to its acidity, lemon juice whitens yellow teeth and reduces tartar, and vitamin C, which is in the composition, strengthens the gum. Put a little lemon juice on the toothbrush, brush gently, then rinse. You can do this up to 2 times a week maximum, because lemon acid can attack the tooth enamel.

Hair mask

Lemon juice can be used for hair and scalp treatment, having a dandruff removal effect, and its acidity helps to regulate the PH levels of the scalp. Dilute a spoonful of lemon in a cup of water, then massage your scalp gently with the obtained solution. Wai tfor 2 minutes, then rinse. Avoid immediate sun exposure as your hair may lose its color.

For dry and damaged hair prepare a mask consisting of a cup of olive oil, 4 tablespoons of lemon juice and 5 tablespoons of honey. Apply the mask on wet hair and let it act for 15 minutes, then use your usual shampoo. Repeat the treatment three times a month, and you won’t be disappointed by the results.

Foot mask

The soles are a very vulnerable part of our body. Add to a blender a peeled lemon, two cucumbers and a tablespoon of olive oil. Mix them up and then heat the mixture in the microwave. Apply the mask on your feet. Thoroughly massage your soles for 10 minutes, then remove the mask with warm water. The lemon will exfoliate the dead skin layers and cucumber and the olive oil will moisturize your feet.
