How to Properly Care for the Skin Around the Eyes

It is important to pay attention to skin care, regardless of age. The skin around the eyes is more sensitive, so it needs special treatment.

 

To delay the appearance of wrinkles and to avoid the bags under the eyes, the most important thing is to get sufficient rest, have a 7 to 8-hour sleep program on most, if not all nights. Secondly, it’s important to drink 2 liters of water a day or more during the summer. Water keeps our skin healthy, and dehydration favors wrinkles.

 

Use eye creams

It is recommended to use special creams desiged for the skin around the eyes. Choose nutritious and peptide-containing creams that stimulate collagen production, involved in maintaining elasticity. Among the ingredients of the eye cream should also be retinol, which helps regenerate cells and prevent skin aging; Vitamin A or E also diminishes existing wrinkles and prevents the appearance of new ones. If you face have swollen eyes, you should find soemthig with ingredients such as caffeine or green tea, and if you have dark wrinkles, it is good for the gel or cream to contain kojic acid, arbutin or vitamin B3.

 

Natural masks can help you get rid of bags under the eyes and wrinkles

If you have bags under your eyes when you make your morning coffee, put 2 teaspoons on a cleansing disc and let it cool down. Then tear it in two pieces and put one under each eye. After 5-10 minutes, the skin beneath the eye will be revived. You can also make a mask of raw cucumber and milk. Mix in the blender 1 small cucumber with 1 tablespoon of milk. Put the mix in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to cool down. Apply the mask under the eye with a light massage and let it work for 30 minutes, then remove it with warm water.

 

For a soothing and smoothing effect under the eyes, prepare a mask of 1 teaspoon of rose oil, 10 drops of lavender essential oil, 4 drops of essential oil of lemon and 1 teaspoon of aloe gel. Put all the ingredients in a container and mix them well. In the evening, gently massage the solution under the eye and over the eyelids.

To prevent wrinkles and remove dryness of the skin, try a mask made of coconut oil and carrots. Cut 1 carrot in a few pieces and boil it for 5 minutes, then put it into the blender. Mix the carrot paste with 2 teaspoons of coconut oil and spread the mixture under the eyes. Let it act for 15 minutes and then wash with lukewarm water.

 

Do not forget!

 

  • Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night on a pillow not too high or too low to keep your head and neck in a natural position
  • Drink water and unsweetened herbal tea
  • Reduce salt and alcohol consumption and increase potassium intake (bananas, baked potatoes, white beans, yogurt, watermelon, red beet, salmon) to prevent and treat fluid retention
  • Quit smoking
