Tips for preventing motion sickness

Motion sickness is a fairly common disturbance of the inner ear, encountered when the movement felt by our inner ear differs from the one our eyes see. Basically, the brain receives contradictory information from the ears, eyes and the nerves inside the joints and muscles.

People with motion sickness usually experience the symptoms when traveling. There are a few tips and tricks you can use to minimize its effects, that we’re going to find out about in this article!

Risk Factors

Any form of traveling, either in a car, boat or airplane, can cause motion sickness, including certain attraction in amusement parks and VR games. Children aged between 2 and 12 years and pregnant women are the most likely to be affected by motion sickness.


Motion sickness is usually treated quickly, by itself, and does not require medical attention. Most patients experiencing motion sickness know their symptoms, especially as the disorder occurs only during travel or during specific activities.


Symptoms usually stop when the motion that causes the state of harm ceases. Some people may experience symptoms even a few days after the journey.

Breathe fresh air. Fresh air can ease the symptoms of motion sickness. Avoid any kind of odors, including car refreshers, which can aggravate motion sickness.
