Noni Juice: Health Benefits and Risks

Noni juice is derived from the fruit of the noni tree, also known as Morinda citrifolia, found in Tahiti, Hawaii, Southeast Asia, Australia and India. Although it has been used for centuries in traditional medicine, it has only begun to gain popularity in recent years, despite the potential risks that may arise from consumption. Apart from the fruit itself, even leaves, roots and stems are used.


The fruit has a greenish-yellow color and reaches the size of the mango fruit. It is very bitter and has a distinctive odor that is often compared to the smell of cheese. The fruit was used in medicine to alleviate common health problems such as constipation, infections, pains and arthritis. Currently, noni is consumed in the form of juice, as it contains antioxidants and offers many health benefits.
